Above are three potential early childhood professionals outside the United States that I made an attempt to contact via email. The reason for choosing these particular ones mainly has to do with my own personal interests. My children have family in the Philippines and have hopes one day to visit and possibly study there. I would like to know more about the educational system, and the success and challenges it faces daily. The second one is Hong Kong, and it is also a personal interest of mine, because it is such a controlled environment that I would like to know what effect it has on the existing educational system, based on the way in which they are governed. I chose a third one, which is Ghana, because every since I can remember, we have heard stories about Africa and surrounding cities and I would love to know how they educated their children, how much government help they receive and the struggles they endure daily both financially and politically. I have sent emails to all three, and am patiently awaiting a response. I also wanted to include that I am following the http://www.nccp.org/topics/childpoverty.html. Though it wasn't shocking, but still hard to accept, that more that 21% of all children are poverty bound and families are at or below the poverty line 20,050 for a family of four. So, more than "42% of children live in low income families."
WISH ME LUCK, BECAUSE THERE IS SO MUCH TO BE LEARNED.
