Exploring Roles in the ECE Community: Local and
State Levels
Three local organizations that appeal to me are :
Total Action Against Poverty www.tapintohope.org
This is a wonderful organization, because it helps children in
the early stages get the resources it needs to go to school, get immunizations
and help parents get the skills needed to better serve their children.
Salvation
Army www.salvationarmyusa.org/
This is a wonderful church/community organization that helps
families all over the U.S with food, Christmas, utilities , and community services. It is an outreach organization that lends a
hand to those in need.
WIC www.fns.usda.gov/wic/aboutwic/
WIC is an organization that provides nutrition training to
mothers and mother's to be, and provides food/formulas supplements to help feed
babies and toddlers. The WIC
organization ensures immunizations are
up to parts and provides resources and referrals to families to acquires things
that are needed to sustain life. It
helped me when I was in need and it continues to aid mother's in need.
Available
Jobs:
Jobs that are available now, that relate to working with the
poor, specifically children are case managers for social service, intake
workers, and AMERI-CORPs. I live in an
area where jobs are limited.
Skillls
needed for Jobs:
The skills that I would need to fulfill these jobs is
personality, flexibility, compassion, ability to multi-task, creativity with
limited budget and the drive to help and serve those children in need.
