Farewell Walden Colleagues

Three deeply felt learnings from this program:

1.        Social change is a continuous gradual change that evolves overtime.

2.       Educators are lifetime teachers, all of whom must strive to make a difference in their surroundings.

3.       We are the voice of the children; therefore, we must do our best stand up and be heard.

One long-term goal

One long term goal is to:   Take a trip overseas and visit some of the educational institutions and see how they operate.
A farewell message to your Instructor and colleagues (consider uploading a video or audio podcast)

To Dr. Teri Davis and all my colleagues,

Thank you so much for your encouragement during this program.  I have truly enjoyed attending Walden and each of you have made this experience more meaningful.  I wish all of you the best and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt, that each of you will continue to make a difference.  I hope to see you all at graduation, but no matter what, just know that you all have made a friend here at Walden University.

My favorite quotes:

“A Mind is a terrible thing to waste”

“Life is like clay, you have to mold it”

It took strength, to make it; but it took God to see me through day to day.  I am thankful for a second chance and this is a happy ending to a long journey.

Jobs/Roles in the ECE Community: Internationally

Three International Agencies in Support of Children's Development:

International Forum for Child Welfare
"The International Forum for Child Welfare is an international nongovernmental organization dedicated to the promotion of the rights and well being of children globally which recognizes the contribution of effective leadership in the challenge of making the world a better place for children.
IFCW is founded on respect for children’s rights and committed to responding to their needs. Comprised of leading child welfare organizations throughout the world, the IFCW believes that by strengthening the capacity of organizations through leadership development, identification and exchange of effective practice and promoting collaborative partnerships, the well being of children can be significantly improved"(IFCW).
I chose this international organization because it concern with preserving the overall rights of children, in order to provide a better way of life for their future.

"Founded in 1977, International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN) is the only multidisciplinary international organization that brings together a worldwide cross-section of committed professionals to work toward the prevention and treatment of child abuse, neglect and exploitation globally. Learn more about ISPCAN"(ISPCAN).

I chose this international agency, because it is in support of eliminating child abuse worldwide, and since it is on the rise and children die daily because of abuse, I can't think of a better cause to support.

I chose this international agency in support of children, because it covered all spectrums such as
HIV/AIDs, child protection, child development, education etc  I am amazed at all they do and the lives they touch.

I chose this international organization because it is support of children's health.  In the last year, I was lucky enough to attend a international celebration called "The Overflow" and children from all the third world countries performed and showed the wonderful outcome of the clean water and sanitation wells put in etc.  All of children had rough lives, but they had voices of  angels and they were living proof of how a little goes along way.

"The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) works in more than 190 countries and territories to save and improve children’s lives, providing health care and immunizations, clean water and sanitation, nutrition, education, emergency relief, and more. The U.S. Fund for UNICEF supports UNICEF’s work through fundraising, advocacy, and education in the United States. Together, we are working toward the day when ZERO children die from preventable causes and every child has a safe and healthy childhood"( UNICEFUSA).
