"We know that teachers are the key to good child care - and as long as teachers are undervalued, American children, too, will keep getting less than they deserve"(Whitebook).

Passion Quotes from the Foundation of Early Childhood Studies: Louise Derma-Sparks (Professor Emertius, Pacific Oak College, CA)
"I always wanted to be a teacher". "My mother always told me, that instead of wanting to play house, I would play school..."(Professor Emertius).
"As I grew up, I continued to want to be a teacher, because I had a built in passion that was important to make a real contribution in the world"(Professor Emertius).
I love Marcy Whitebrook's quote. This is so true, if we value children we have to show that we value teachers who work for their welfare too.
ReplyDeleteI also agree with Pres. Clinton's quote, “We cannot build our own future without helping others to build theirs.” -- we, educators, build our future as we teach children.
Marcy Whitebook is great! The more I learn about her the more I like her. I used one of her quotes too. Hopefully one day teachers will be fully valued for all they do!
